Our Cottage on The Paddock is a timber and steel house set on 50 acres of bush and pasture, between Denmark and Albany in the South of Western Australia.

Easy access to some of the magnificent southern coastline,

Anvil and Lowlands beaches, Wilson inlet, a little further to Walpole and the Tree Top Walk among the yellow tingle forests.

Head east and you reach Albany and its beautiful attractions.

Fully equipped for a weekend, a week or longer, wake up to the sounds of rural WA, spend the day exploring the sights or just relax and soak in the tranquility, and watch the sun set over the trees.

General notes

The water supply is 100% rainwater.

If you prefer filtered water we recommend you consider bringing your own.

Otherwise feel free to enjoy the taste of rainwater right from the sky.

One set of linen is included in the tariff. Additional linen is available on request at an additional charge.

This is a non-smoking venue. Please do not smoke on the property.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU SUPERVISE YOUR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES.

We have fenced the dam to the rear of the house from cattle, the fence will not keep out children or dogs.

There is also a large unfenced farm dam in the front paddock which is unsafe to swim in and is the main water source for cattle.

Farm safety is everyone’s responsibility.

2 queen rooms, 1 children’s room with bunkbed,

2 Bathrooms, 2 toilets, Double shower, His & Hers vanities, Full size bath,

Country kitchen with dishwasher, Push button heating.

$175.00 per night

Minimum 2 night stay

Located 17km East of Denmark town centre.

Near the village of Youngs Siding.

Between Denmark, Albany and Mount Barker, you are well situated for day trips to attractions like the tree-top walk in Walpole, the blowholes at Albany, the southern wine region or explore the magnificent southern coastline.

The Paddock.

50 acres fenced into two paddocks and the house.

The house is fully fenced with stock lock. This fence is to keep cattle out, and is unlikely to contain either kids or dogs who are determined to get to the other side.

There is a dam to the rear of the house which is also fenced, with a farm gate from the house.

The front paddock has a large hay shed, and an unfenced farm dam.

The rear paddock is empty (except for cattle from time to time).

There is a 30 metre revegetation strip around the whole paddock and a 30 metre revegetation strip that divides the two main paddocks.

Our cottage.

Intended to be our family home, we designed and built it for us and our two young children.

Built by family friend and Master builder Richard Ryde it was finished in September 2007

with help from friends and family.

Gardens are young, with 20 assorted fruit trees, grass and a rose garden being

tenderly bought to maturity by our local Horticulturalist Gregg Phipps.
